Every boy’s dream
Visiting the Air and Space Museum in Washington, and day dreaming watching the aircrafts, rockets, satellites, space stations and other incredible devices hanging from the roof. It may sound cheesy, but it is something incredible for mankind to try and achieve flight and space travel. One of the best TV channels in the US is NASA TV, because they have LIVE retransmission of what is going on in the International Space Station! You can’t beat Space Walk with any Loft, American Idol … !!!
As Burt Rutan (between other things, creator of the first privately funded spaceship) mentions it in the following TED video, we have been stagnating in the last decades, it’s time to really move forward on space exploration!

A secret hallway…
The Capitol is an impressive monument in Washington, the visit is coded, but looking here and there, endless corridors, small doors and strange stairs makes it a mysterious place, full of conspiracies and secret meetings…

Washington 03-07/08-09 #1
This is a composite image of the Capitol Dome in Washington, so big I am missing parts of it with more than 10 pictures. More details on its rich history here ou ici. More pictures are coming from our week end in Washington, the perfect place for museum and monuments freaks. (and we saw Obama’s helicopter going to the White House!)
Second try with one more picture:

Close up on “glaciar”, Argentina
This photo was taken during a trekking on the Perito Moreno. This is a small introduction of the next post…
When the wind brings dust from the moraine (grey or black) on the ice, it attracts sun rays and slowly melts the ice around it. With time, it creates these incredible abstract sculptures.

Colors and Memories
Souvenir from a week end in Gent. The colors remind me of “Girl with a Pearl Earring”, what do you think?

Iced
Funny what a cold morning wind and a car’s hood can create: back to geometry, as mentioned in previous post.

Trip to Orval Abbaye
Not far away from Luxembourg by car, you can easily reach “La Gaume” in Belgium and one of the favorite place of many beer lovers: Orval.
One of the 6 trappist beer in the world (5 in Belgium), it is still made under the supervision of the monastic community (no visits of the brewery are allowed for “simple” tourists).
Orval is a “living” monastery, you can only access the ruins of the old abbaye, the museum and the visitor stand in the church. Still worth a visit, and a trip back home with a trunk loaded of the famous beer.
